About the Exhibition
The Jim Henson Exhibition: MUPPETS & MORE! is a major international exhibition exploring Jim Henson’s (1936–90) groundbreaking work for film and television, his legendary puppets, and his transformative impact on popular culture. This blockbuster presentation reveals how Henson and his team of builders, performers, and writers brought to life the enduringly popular puppet characters of Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, and Muppet films; the fantastical worlds of Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth; and much more.
MUPPETS & MORE! features a broad range of objects related to Henson’s unparalleled career, including original puppets, sketches, storyboards, annotated scripts and photographs, as well as rare film and television content, an exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary, and two dynamic interactive experiences. The exhibition will captivate and inspire visitors of all ages, shedding light on Henson’s immense contributions to puppetry, and the art and industry of the moving image.
As artistically impressive as it is technically innovative, the work of Jim Henson spans the fields of art, performance, technology and popular culture.
