Custom Frames

ArtFrames™ are premium quality picture frames manufactured by our team of museum-trained craftsmen. ArtFrames™ are made of natural hardwoods in a wide variety of molding shapes and finishes so the frame provides the optimal visual presentation of the artwork while affording it archival protection. Choose from a wide variety of archival boards, moldings, and finishes, or be expertly guided by one of our framing specialists.

Standard ArtFrames™

These reusable classic museum frames are made of fine wood moldings which are spline-joined and crafted to enhance your art-viewing experience. Their unique construction allows for effortless replacement of artworks by the client All frames are available in black or white satin-painted finish, or walnut, come with glass, backing board, and a rear-fitting bevel strainer sealed against off-gassing for optimal structural and archival integrity. Moldings are square-faced with a 1 1/2 inch (38 mm) depth and a 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) face.

Curatorial can fit your art to the Standard ArtFrames™according to your needs, with a classic mat board, or a fitted spacer between the artwork and glass – or ship them as is for fitting at your convenience.

Matting

We use both computerized and traditional hand-cut mat cutting techniques with a variety of museum boards to perfectly place the window to your art. Mat choices include pH-neutral museum boards and linen wrapped archival materials.


Mounting

Substrate choices include pH-neutral museum board, DiBond (aluminum sheets thermobonded to a solid polyethylene core), aluminum, Sintra (a highly durable and archival PVC board), up to 79 x 160 inches (200 x 400 cm) depending on substrate size.
